Frank Palmieri
has accumulated a wealth of experience in the almost thirty years he
has been a clinician. He has provided services in a variety of mental
health and chemical dependency settings, and has served as an educator
and consultant to schools, agencies, court systems, and private
industry. Frank
provides outpatient counseling and psychotherapy for individuals,
couples, and families.
Frank was raised
in northern New Jersey, and received a Bachelor of Education Degree
from Seton Hall University in 1970. After service as an infantry
officer, he returned to New Jersey where he was employed in the
construction and restaurant industries, and as a mental health aide
and counselor, while attending graduate school; first at Seton Hall,
and then at Rutgers University, where he was awarded a Master of
Social Work Degree in 1982. This broad range of employment and life
experiences has provided Frank with a “real world” view of the
problems, concerns and issues facing his patients. Frank continued
his professional career as a program director, executive director, and
consultant in chemical dependency and mental health centers in New
Jersey and Maryland, and moved to Florida in 1991. He directed
psychiatric and chemical dependency programs in Jacksonville and St.
Augustine, and was part of a large psychiatric practice before
entering solo private practice in 2001.
Frank is
licensed by the State of Florida as a Clinical Social Worker, and is a
member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy
of Certified Social Workers. He is a past member of the Northeast
Florida Employee Assistance Professionals Association.
